1. I finally looked at my bank account after two weeks of frivolous spending in Phnom Penh and Bangkok; and the two and half months that I've been in Pursat. Yikes. I'm in the shallow end of what I've got left, meaning, not much. Budgeting has never been something I've been good at. Expenses big and small add up, you know? And if you do not have an income to compensate, money only depletes and keeps on depleting... I will have enough to survive here for rent, utilities, visa renewal expenses and some food (maybe). I'm just getting stressed now over the fact that I will be virtually broke by the time I come home.
2. I come home in 2 months and 10 days. Weird.
3. Today I emailed my "Intent to Graduate" form to APU. I won't believe it until it actually happens and I actually walk across that stage in December. God willing...
4. I have heat rash in different areas of my arms, legs and feet. Again. April is suppose to get up to 105-115 degrees here. Electricity also just went up to $.50/kilowatt, which means I will be very hesitant to turn on the AC even though I want it so bad.
5. I had a mild panic attack the whole bus ride home, coming back to Pursat on Sunday. I felt complete inadequacy, ugliness, ignorance of the Khmer language, etc. Similar to how I felt when I first came to Cambodia. The panic has slowly dissipated now. Maybe it was just the experience of coming back after being away in such drastically different places that caused such feelings.
6. I miss my parents. A lot.
