About my first day back at school.

(Yes that's my school. I'm hotlinking the picture from the APU website. I know, I'm cheap.)

I'm taking two classes this semester - Intro to World Music and Intercultural Analysis. World Music looks to be awesome. My teacher carries a giant magnifier glass because he's mostly blind but his name is Kimasi Browne. We have to call him "Dr. Browne", for his ego. He just spent the greater part of this year teaching Ethnomusicology in Beijing. What, does everybody get to go to China except me? My class has floor-to-ceiling mirrors, probably for Music Performance majors, but I have a feeling they're going to be really distracting for me. Here's a challenge for my own vanity.

The other class doesn't start till next week. The professor is a new adjunct for the Global Studies department, teaching a class for seniors who have all come back from their respective countries and I'm worried that he simply won't be good enough. Oh, and his name is Kaak. KAAK. How would you pronounce that?

The only thing that kind of irritates me is having to see new batch of freshmen walk around with their bubbliness, naivete... Well, at least I look better than most people, I'm definitely smarter and so what it's taking me an extra year? There's still something interesting about being on that campus at the start of a new school year. Maybe because now I walk around jaded, having fun making quips and snarks. Ah, the life of a 5th year senior...

Only Wendy can finally get the Kaak and then worry that it won't be good enough.
