The girl who got nits.

Today was the first day of my Intercultural Analysis class. This is the class that everyone has to take when they have returned from their Global Learning Terms. I didn't know everyone so we went around the room and introduced ourselves, speaking briefly about where we went and what we did there. After everyone took their turns, people were free to ask questions. One kid (no, he really does look like a kid - he's 16 but is a bit pretentious, so it's more like he's going on 25) asked me, "Are you the girl that got bugs in her hair that Dr. Slimbach told us about?"

No, not the least bit embarrassing. ... Well, it makes for a good story.

In other Cam-related news, I found a way to stream my favorite Cambodian pop song! I have been listening to it all day but I love it. This is the only song that I really liked while I was there and the kids and I would sing it all the time. I managed to learn the chorus by just hearing it so it was a lot of fun to be able to sing it with them. Everybody knew I was obsessed with this song. During my goodbye party, I made sure that the song was be played. It was absolutely precious when everyone slowed down to dance to this beautiful ballad. One of the teachers even asked me to dance. Like I said, precious. One of my favorite memories, for sure.

Here it is. The song is called Sday Kroy, which means "regret" and is sung by a performer who goes by the name James. The song is about how a guy loses a girl and wishes he could see her again. And he's sad that his heart is so far from him. That's what I gathered from the few words that I know.
