However, while I look forward to what is possible, I am not going to be relaxed. There are four years ahead of us and I want him to have his chance. Beyond our cheering and patriotism tonight, we need to look ahead and pray for wisdom in leadership, compassion in determination and vision with justice. And also, even most basically, his safety. The emotions I've witnessed on television tonight really does mirror the same devotion shown in the 60's for JFK and look at what happened with that. I saw the video when I was younger and it's burned in my memory. I just don't want O to be killed. Is that morbid?
But it does feel great to say we have a black president now.

"Isn't it easy to get swept up in the romantic notions of optimism? But isn't it time that we felt optimistic again?" -- this is my new favorite quote and really hits the spot of what i've been feeling about Obama lately. it's so easy to get behind him and be inspired, etc. but, isn't it about time that we had a leader that actually inspired us?? and no--it's not morbid to hope that he doesn't get killed. i am on the same page with you there too.
hope you're doing well and i miss you.
