"Damaging my calm."

So, the show CHUCK has easily become my new unexpected favorite show this season.

I was watching the episode, Chuck vs. the Sensei, and Adam Baldwin's character John Casey, said nearly the exact same line that has been made into a classic for his character Jayne on Firefly. Casey said, "You're damaging my calm." Which is nearly identical to what Jayne said to River: "She's starting to damage my calm." I nearly screamed with fangirl excitement. To confirm, I went on a couple of Firefly forums and yes, fans already discussed it. And well, that just made my heart full. I don't think the writers have confirmed this but it has to be a nod to the genius that was Firefly, it has to be.

There's something very special about your fandoms crossing over. Like when Joss Whedon was on Veronica Mars just because he liked the show so much. Or having Veronica Mars as the narrator of Gossip Girl. Basically, just whenever actors from my favorite shows star in each other's shows.

In other exciting news, hey look! A few changes to my blog! I'm still not ready or inspired enough to do a complete redesign, but I'm actually quite content tweaking the little things for now. I also added a chatterbox. Anyone remember those things? I believe they were all the rage once upon time. That and making a webpage from geocities and animated gifs to spice up your page. Hahaha. I added one because all the cool kids are doing it. So now you better write in it! (Ahem, Danica). If it's worthwhile, I've leave it up.

So far on my winter break, I have reconnected with a few friends, almost completely caught up on all my shows but basically, have been sleeping in till 11:00am everyday. It's been incredible. There's talk of a day trip out to the Salton Sea later in the week but the event is giving me anxiety, mainly because of who it would be with. I'm not ready for a long 2-3 hour drive and back... I'm so complicated and fickle, it's ridiculous.

Right now, I'm at work. The kids are on break. Meaning, they run around, fighting, screaming or gambling. Well, not really but kind of. Only have to do this for the rest of today and tomorrow, then the center is on vaycay too. I will be applying for a college internship with the Metro for next semester. And applying for a second job. The economy is still in the shithole and I personally know so many people who are being affected by this. It's so depressing.
