1 year bloggiversary!!!!!!

I completely forgot to say this earlier in the month but it's been a little over a year now since I started this blog!

The name was inspired by my upcoming trip to Cam, the 180 days I was going to spend there, and I've stayed with the name even now that I've returned because well, I'm still writing about it, the trip changed my life and clearly, from the last post, I'm just as obsessed with Cam (if not even more now than before!). So.... yeah. Now the name carries the symbolism of how everyday brings a different wind, teaching me new things, and to look at the world with openness.

And speaking on this blog... I guess this is a fitting opportunity to talk about the title: scaffolding. There are few meanings to it. One, it is to mark my time of transition, of returning to California and continuing life here after Cam. It is from a poem by Seamus Heaney, with the same title. The poem is about looking forward with hope, and to have faith that the building and rebuilding of ourselves and our relationships will be worth it.

And about relationships, this leads to the second meaning of why I chose this for my current blog title. My ex-boyfriend gave me this poem to read while we were dating. I'm still not sure why. It was vaguely put that it made him think of me. Of course, about a week later... we broke up so... yeah, don't know. But, I felt it pretty gutsy to be so inspired by something that had such painful sentiments attached to it. It is my own quirky way of really saying that I have, finally, moved forward from the pain of that relationship.

Oh words and meanings.

I might have the rest for breakfast though.
